"Merchants Of Northern Noise"
HEED CASE are currently a two piece based in the Northeast of England. Comprised of former long-time Angelic Upstarts guitarist Newts Newton & Mr Dusty, who is responsible for beats, bleeps & triggers! The band came about after Newts' time in the Upstarts ended, following the passing of founding member Thomas 'Mensi' Mensforth. R.I.P.
Influenced by a range of genres from classic punk, new wave / cold wave, psych rock, minimal techno and a pinch of post punk, HEED CASE aim to move beyond their punk & psych rock roots & explore more experimental sonic landscapes.
The debut album titled ‘All the Rage’ was inspired by the work of Dr Stephanie Sarkis. The album explored the themes of gaslighting & narcissism in modern society, amidst the current climate & growing trend in self entitlement, culture wars & identity politics.
Our second album titled 'MONGO' was released in October 2025 to critical acclaim. It is known for its raw, experimental sound and direct exploration of the band members' shared experiences with neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities), offering honest, often humorous, takes on life with these traits through punk, psych rock, synths, and sound design.
Going forward, HEED CASE will continue to explore & write ever more experimental material for future releases, whilst crafting a live show to engage audiences with their tight, angry rhythms and raw vocals
